Dubai Municipality is regarded as one of the largest establishments in Dubai in terms of the number of people it employs, the volume of services it provides to the public and the projects it carries out. The Municipality was established in 1940s with a total staff strength of three persons who were operating from a single room. However, it was in 1965 that Dubai Municipality came into being officially. The Municipality kept up its steady growth since its inception and has now become a large organisation with more than 10,000 staff working in over 20 departments.
